These look pretty interesting. I'd never seen these until I poked around looking at Delvac stuff.

Interesting that extended drain filters are specifically for the diesel market. Guess a regular Mobil 1 oil filter is sufficent in gasoline engine applications for extended drains as the oil and filter doesn't have to deal with the same level of particulates as a diesel.

Indeed, with clean air act requirements around automotive gas engines, I suspect the exhaust gases are cleaner than the intake air

. I wonder if in fact, given the filtration by the air filter and incineration inside the cylinders of VOC's etc., whether automotive engines aren't a major factor, along with trees and the like, in cleaning the air in urban areas, much like the Zebra muscles clean Lake Erie with their constant filtration?
