Mobil 1 - Walmart

Local Walmart carries both M1 V-Twin 20w-50 and Mobil 1 ATF for under $6 a quart. 5 Quart jugs of M1 for $20 is tough to beat. Currently running SuperTech Synthetic which at under $14 for 5 quarts is good deal. I've been using SuperTech 50/50 coolant for drain/fills in my cars for years. Oh, and my trucks rear end is full of SuperTech Synthetic 75w-140, you can't beat it at $10 a quart.

Auto parts stores run good sales from time to time but Walmart is hard to beat on a daily basis. I'm not the kind of guy to stock up on oil (ya'll think I'm the freak) I just buy my supplies when I need to do a service so Walmart's low prices work for me.

Definitely. PP is tough to be for the $$. Excellent oil.

At the Walmart I use, the price of Pennzoil Platinum 5qt jug is so close the the Mobil 1 price I just stick with Mobil 1. I do wish that my Walmart would carry Mobil 1 gear lube

M1 didn't do diddly squad for my Honda. I guess Fonda don't got a motor in the back of her Honda if there are so many positive responses for M1 here. M1, meh..the hype is over for me but goodluck to those where the hype (or success) continues but for me, M1 (in it's current modern formula (i.e not GRP IV but GRP III, whatever et al, ad nauseum))is rightly in my rear-view mirror based on my personal testing in my vehicle; my FE went down drastically and really, I couldn't really tell it apart from the Mobil Drive Clean 5000 *and* DC 7500. M1 is Garbage for Hondas.

The Assistant Service Manager at the local Wal-Mart told me they don't stock Mobil 1 0w/5w-20 or Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 because it's too thin. He said that in his experience it causes engine damage and after all they truly care about their customers. He gave me some other tips on caring for my car. He asked and I told him that I'm using straight 40 weight diesel grade oil. I'm certainly glad he caught me just in time because I've only been using it in the same car for 41 years. That was close. Now I find out that my starter can’t turn the engine over with that heavy diesel oil in the pan. Darn. He said that he was so concerned that he would give me a free oil change and explained how 10w-40 oil works. There is something about it being a 10 weight in the winter and a 40 weight in the summer. I can tell you that not only can you get a wide selection of engine oil but timely tips on what oil to use. Next time I go back to Wal-Mart I’m going to take notes. I think I’ll ask him his view on how the HTHS rating might ultimately effect gas mileage.

I have been buying motor oil mostly at Wal-Mart for quite a while now. For the wintertime I bought some Mobil 1 5W30. I can't remember exactly what the price was but it worked out to only about $4.00-$5.00 a quart. You can usually save money by buying oil in a 5 quart container.

A while back I bought some Chevron oil (when it was still warm weather) at a Checker's Auto Parts Store. It was something like $2.00 a quart.

If I can get the Mobil 1 oil cheap enough at Wal-Mart I think I might just keep using Mobil 1. What the heck-it is only about $2.00 more a quart than a lot of conventional motor oils.

Hooey! I've had nine Hondas (one currently) and they all have done well on M1. I have the used oil analysis to prove it. Just like your posts in other threads, you are ignporant of the truth or purposefully misinforming. Which is it?

Just picked up 6 qts of Mobil 1 0w20. $5qt.

0w40 was $5.67 qt.

EP oils were $6.23

i try to keep stocked up on the Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40. sometimes my local Walmart has it and sometimes they don't. i believe it to be a much better oil than the standard 5w/10w-30 synthetic.

That's a low price for those oils/ATF. I would stock up! Usually around 8.25-9.00 around here and 7 for the ATF. The Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w40 for 22/gal is a great price for a great oil, but finding it at Walmart is really hit or miss. Usually easier to find the Rotella 5W-40 and $6 cheaper a gallon. I'm really liking the HM Mobil 1 oils. Rear main leaks down to nil on some older cars. Found 8 qts of 0W-20 on clearance shelf for $3/qt at the local Walmart-snatched it up too.

How much is Delvac 1 at Wal-Mart or other suppliers for a gallon jug? I'm wondering because it's exactly the same as M1 Turbo-Diesel truck and I am wondering if there is a price discrepency.
