I've been using Mobil 1 oil filters (along with Mobil 1 oil) in my 2006 Acura TL since it was new. I change oil and filter at about 7,000-7500 miles (according to the cars computer). I understand both filters use a synthetic filter material. I'm thinking of using the Pure One since they are about 1/2 the price of the Mobil 1. (My friends tell me I'm wasting money on the Mobil 1 filter at 7,000 miles.)Does the Pure One filter work as well as the Mobil 1? I'm somewhat new to all this science and value the experience of this forum. Thanks.

I have the opinion that Mobil-1 traps more particles.

I also have the opinion that NAPA Golds are overall-better than Pure Ones. You can buy them online here at fleetfilter.com for around $4. Buy a handful to offset shipping costs.

I went to that site and didn't see any Napa Gold filters. It only listed a WIX #51356 oil fliter.

The info there is on the identical Wix - but when the website finalizes the purchase-transaction, you will get a notification that NAPA Golds will be shipped.

It depends if they're on sale or not. In general, their filters are around $6-7, but once in a great while, at least the store around here, has a sale where you can get them for the same price as fleetfilter but that's not very often, so I prefer to just use the site

If you send an email to fleet asking for a specific filter not listed they will email a price, rather quickly too!

Also what I did to offset prices was to buy for over 9 vehicles (friends & family) and just distribute the shipping equally. Just as a example a 42222 list price is $28, with shipping from fleet was $14-15....

Pure one filters are great and just as good as M1 if not better for 1/2 the price IMO thats why I use them hope that answers your question cheers.
