It doesn't really get that cold in Toronto. It's very rare to see it go below 0F. A typical winter day here sees overnight temps of 15-20 with daytime highs of 30-32. Right now the temp outside is 24F. Cold, but nothing that a synthetic 10w30 can't handle. Even a synthetic 15w40 or 15w50 can do ok up here.

BTW, a good friend of mine lives in West Orange NJ and we always talk about the weather in our emails and his weather is very similar to ours, perhaps just a few degrees warmer but not too far off.

Are these results public like Bob's? Would be interesting to read.

There is a section of the site which needs my username and password that shows that extra bit more info on my oil analysis than the rest of the report, for some reason, but you can view most of my analysis report here:

Patman,
What I meant was , could you access their entire database of all analysis.Nice way to find trending across the board. Thanks

Sorry for the misunderstanding Mark. No, I don't think any lab would make all their results public like that, they'd need to get permission from each individual person in order for that to happen. The closest thing we have to something like you're asking is the Maxima spreadsheet, where Maxima owners have put their oil analysis results together and a guy named Bill put them up in an Excel spreadsheet.

I've edited the original post, adding the fact that this lab uses differing methods which cause some of the numbers to look worse than they really are. I'll have to include that disclaimer on my reports from now on. This is why we call it trend analysis my friends! (a wise man named Terry once said that!)

Her lead is lower because she drives very gentle! Her engine never sees above 3000rpm unless someone else drives it!
