This is this "standard" Mobil 1. Compared to last change, I went an extra 600 miles for the same OLM reading... Nothing seemed to change. I still have about 1 change worth of M1 left. Maybe I'll try a different flavor after that one and see if we can improve anything? Delco filter, no makeup oil. Added a temperature probe to monitor oil temp and it never went above 190F in the sump. I know Blackstone's fuel dilution is suspect. I almost want to throw a sample on the GC mass spec at work next go around and see what's what. Or maybe switch vendors for the testing.... Anyway, what all do you think?

Singular UOAs are not a tool which can assist in making those kinds of decisions. You're not going to be able to accurately distinguish if you can "improve" anything with small sample sets. This is a common misconception; you're not alone.

Overall, wear is in the expected range and contamination is low. That's good news.

I have the same engine. Numbers look good but there is more fuel in the oil than what B/S Labs is showing. Viscosity is a tad low. I've been curious about what typical oil temps were for this engine.

Honestly the standard M1 is working fine for you.

I see M1 Truck and SUV is on rollback for the same price and may be a nice upgrade if you feel you want to try something different.

I apologize as thats poor wording on my part... and I agree.

The thin finish is the only thing jumping out at me (again, only 2 samples). I have a lot of towing coming up so this analysis will probably change from last one. But if I do the same oil for a few years I'll have a nice average I could compare against and trend if something gets out of line. (The main reason I'm doing this. For example, jump in sodium on an interval gives me something to investigate. Head gasket?)

Yeah I was curious too. I'm tapped into the block outlet that feeds to the oil cooler... typical temps are 150s-170s. And yeah... I learned it leaves a lot to be desired as far as dilution.

I got the regular in the 12 quart boxes for like 89 out the door at wally world for 2. So like 17$ for 5 quarts... very good price. I think I'll just stick with it. Dad's been stealing it for his ecoboost though so its going fast....
