I've got a 2010 CTS 3.6L that came factory filled with M-1 5w30. I've got approx 34,000 miles with no oil consumption issues and have changed oil and filter every 5500 miles or so. I can get a deal on Kendall GT-1 full syn with titanium and am thinking of changing over. Can anyone offer thoughts on one over the other.
Thanks.

Any good motor oil will work fine , some will say something else is better but in the end the outcome will be the same as far as how your engine is . I always feel the bigger issue is how a vehical is driven , that's usually the factor that will cause any issues .
Try the Kendall and feel OK with it .

The kendall is a great oil with a stout and diverse additive package. One should note though, it exceeds DEXOS1 but it is NOT certified by GM. I've used kendall in my ecoboost with good results.

For the sake of curiosity, I'd go with the Full Syn Kendall. I did Mobil 1 for years. The last 5 years I change brands on almost every change. Used almost everything from SuperTech to Amsoil.
Advance Auto Parts has a very nice 5000 mile Synthetic. Now running NAPA Syn. Have had Valvoline white bottle as well as Valvoline synthetic. Castrol and Redline too.
I liked them all. Therefore after all these years of various oils, I'm thinking that whatever is on sale is going to be a good choice.

I agree with how you drive a vehicle contributes to its longevity too. I drive my car smoothly, that is no stomping on the gas or brakes although I love cornering fast. But what I wanted to know, does the Kendall have the composition to stack up to M1? I don't want to develop issues that I currently don't have by changing oil. The Kendall is GM approved though.

I've used the Kendall Syn Blend with Titanium and also the Kendall, Super D, Synthetic Blend, 15w-40 with the Kendall Syn Blend PCMO 5w-20.

The vehicles ran smooth. Last year around this time...Kendall Syn Blend was being discontinue at AZ and there was a fire sale on the oil.

M1 has always worked for me for in anything I have used it in. I am yet to use Kendall, so I cannot comment on that. There is nothing wrong with M1 and easily found.

And thats what I like about it too.

Does that mean that I would have a warranty issue if I used Kendall? Their spec sheet says that it meets or exceeds GM4718M, which my owner's manual says I should be using.

Having used both brands my preference is for Kendall. If it is readily available in your area than you should go for it.

I am running Kendall Full Syn in a 2012 Ford Mustang and 2012 Ford Escape.

Running Kendall High Mileage in a 2002 Ford Mustang with 118,000 miles.

Running Kendall Blend in a 2004 Ford Escape with 51,00 miles.

Obviously I love Kendall, Ford and Firestone, but the reality is, all their oils are good. The blend is probaly the best of all considering it is about 60-70 percent synthetic.

I've always heard good things about Kendall. I was a fan of their Green GT-1 back in the day so I'm going to give this one a try and it's cheaper than M-1.

That is an incorrect assumption which is completely unprovable unless you have proprietary knowledge. It is more likely it would contain up to 15% by weight of group III.
