Mobil 1 Hybrid 0w-20

This one is interesting.

It has "suitable for hybrids" on the box.

What exactly does "suitable" mean! Ha! Not "designed for". I wonder if this blend has traits/properties that benefit most hybrid vehicles or does it merely meet specs called out for in most hybrid manuals? This one could actually be a bit of marketing genius that grabs folks attention when perusing the Walmart oil aisle.

The price is certainly right at 25 bucks, and 6 quarts is perfect for my application in a 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid. I may go with this instead of the Mobil 1 Hybrid. There certainly has been quite a bit of recent discussion touting Halvoline PRO-DS.

The Havoline Lifelong is very good oil for most American and Asian cars and is an excellent price. However, I don't know what's needed for a hybrid.

My common sense suggests to me that extra cleaning abilities would be helpful in a hybrid. I've been considering using Valvoline Restore and Protect in my mom's Prius, or maybe Valvoline Hybrid (if it's available in 5w30).

I guess I'd also like to know what is special about Mobil 1 and Valvoline hybrid oils. AFAIK my mom's 09 Prius just specifies using 5w30 without stating any special needs or traits. My common sense suggests to me that hybrids might be prone to water in oil and sludge.

Anyone please correct/educate me if you know more about this topic than I do.

Drum roll...I've been running it for 41 years in a wide variety of vehicles. None ever wore out and every one on which the valve covers were removed, looked clean....like factory new. Even a couple with over 150,000 miles on them.

I'm sure other brands are great. I've had occasional runs of Valvoline, Pennzoil, Rotella Gas Truck, Havoline (Chevron version) and even Supertech....all synthetic. But I'd say 95% of the miles I've driven in my vehicles are on Mobil 1 products.

Why would I change, other than a great clearance sale?

So nobody can argue that it doesn't "save the day" or whatever is meant by that.
