Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I was at Walmart today and all of the Mobil 1 High Mileage (5w30 and 10w30) was SL rated. I know the current new car stranded is SN and SM before that. Is the SL rating up to date?

Its probably old stock still on the shelves at wally, I would not hesitate to use it...

No. Mobil 1 High Mileage has a very robust additive package. API SM/SN does not allow this much additives. That's why this oil cannot meet these specs.

Huh, guess you learn something every day...
I see you have an 04 F250 so it requires SL oil or higher so your good if you buy it.
I should add that these API SM/SN additive level restrictions only apply to Xw-30 grades. That's why Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w40 can be (and is) API SN, SM compliant, but Mobil 1 High Mileage 5w30 and 10w30 cannot.

The SN 10W40HM still has the same 1000ppm of zddp. I emailed Mobil today and got their response. For anyone with flat tappet apps,they said it would be perfect.
