I need to grease some wheel bearings and have some mobil 1 synthetic grease laying around. Is it a good choice? I have a retailer that carries Schaeffers 221 if it's worth using instead.

I don't know what you're servicing, but Mobil 1 synthetic grease is undoubtedly much better that the factory fill.

I've used it for my motorcycle trailer and it doesn't seem to "evaporate" like the conventional grease I put in. It seems to last longer, I used to repack every 1,000 miles but I could double that with the Mobil 1.

I'd probably use it up, not sure if the Schaeffers is better but I am pretty happy with the Mobil 1.

Thanks! I have a rear axle bearing that is starting to make noise so I'm replacing both bearings.
