Leaking spindle seals

you will have no problems with the #274 nlgi 2 grease in your application, very good all around grease, has a dropping point of 500f and has pao in its base oil along with 3% Schaeffer's moly. also to note they are a iso 9001 company.
Thanks for your response. Jeff

As far as grease... a quality grease that's easy to get.

I've been running Chevron 5% moly in everything. I ended up with 5 or 6 cases of old stock (40 tubes a case), so have enough for a few years.

Moly grease is generally not ideal for "high speed" bearings, but a wheel bearing is only doing roughlu 700rpm on a 32" tire doing 65mph, not anything near high speed.

Never heard that about moly and high speed application. Find that very interesting as well as your response. Thanks for sharing Sumboodie.

To much grease... How often is the car driven? Grease doesn't separate if it is regularly mixed.
Started bleeding shortly after hub and tire installation completed. Was too late to drive. Wetted my rotors and thus the brake pads. Sure It's possible to mix it by driving but would not be safe. Even after grease is replaced, car will not be driven that much so need a grease that will stay together. How it got by my new seals remains a mystery but it did. Thanks for your response.

Generally 5% in wheel bearings is not advantageous
But may be ok.

3% is ok unless the specific application calls for no moly.(Rare)
I also had the mobil 1 grease leak out of everything, grease guns, trailer wheel bearings, etc

Not that I'm glad to see it happened to someone else but does make me feel better. Would have never thought it.

Confirmed the 5% but going with it. Too many choices and decisions. Thanks for commenting. Jeff
