Hi all, Mobil 1 ESP X2 0W20 purchased Feb 2021 in Australia from local supplier (both made by Mobil Singapore) was Dexos-D approved and 4x5L purchased recently Aug 2024 no longer has Dexos D or JLR latest approval? It now only has VW 508/509 Porsche C20 and MB 229.71 Approvals. Also the product ID and QR codes have changed between purchases.
Is there a new product replacing it? Cheers Bazza

Thank you for all your replies,

the last comment I found curious, we have had 0W20 engine oil in Australia for 10+ years I think. We are a first world country remember :), it's not all desert and rocks and 45C (113F) in the shade all the time! We must have 12+brands of 0W20 now, petrol (gas) and diesel.

The oil purchased in 2021 had DEXOS-D approval, the latest in 2024 does not, the only reason I can think of is the the licence is based on regions or countries where it is sold as well. And as not many vehicles in AsiaPac region would use DEXOS-D, so why pay for an approval?

I am not really concerned about the missing DEXOS-D approval, more the case of why it's gone missing, I see on Mobil website in the USA it's still tagged with approval, my oil is made in SINGAPORE not the USA by Mobil. Just nice to know it has the DEXOS-D and Jaguar/Land Rover approval, that is also missing. We have had those vehicles here in abundance since the 1950s. Our market must be just too small as our market is less than 30 million people.

Looks like I will concentrate on the ACEA C5 and C6 approved 0W20 light weight Diesel engine oils which are both great. Thanks again for the comments.

Cheers

Bazza
