I will add though that the arguments to keep running whatever your current favorite synthetic is over Valvoline Restore and Protect are eerily similar to those who argued to keep running conventional oils instead of synthetic oils “because they’d never had a problem with conventional before” so why switch?

To me, the leap to Valvoline Restore and Protect from regular synthetics feels very analogous to the advance to synthetic oils from dino. But I do appreciate those who keep running other oils, keeping demand a little lower for Valvoline Restore and Protect and hopefully keeping the price lower for me in the long run.

I'll continue to do my part to leave my share of Valvoline Restore and Protect on the shelves for those that want it.

Haven't all Mobil 1 formulas cleaned up sludge? I think this is just marketing to try to combat Valvoline Restore and Protect.

I've never had any sign of sludge with any Mobil 1 product, so I'd say yes....but I do run mostly their products with at least some PAO in the base, so mostly their "premium" Mobil 1 lines.

Mobil 1 tends to be a little slow in getting info to their customer support when they introduce a new product. We've seen this before. It's actually ok, in my book.

Ha, great point. I went back and looked at the bottle. You are correct. Probably exactly what Mobil would say if you tried to argue with them about the claim and still having a dirty engine.
