Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is here

Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 has been fine in my SD's 2008 Corolla for several years and 4 changes by the OLM. That's doing food delivery full time in Northern VA which should be considered severe service. Not obsessive enough to do UOA in the old car since it runs fine and doesn't consume oil. Compression was good at 150k mile plug change. 🤷‍♂️

This one? Did he post them recently?

Already saw a YT comment saying "Mobil 1 Advanced Clean cleans your engine in 1 oil change vs Valvoline Restore and Protect takes 4 intervals". Well done Mobil, you've accomplished your mission lol.

In all seriousness, I think the Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is a very good oil and is worth considering.

Who actually buys multiple single quarts at those prices when it is so much cheaper in the jug? In fact I never buy single quarts even though my Corvette has a 7 quart capacity
I agree, but I can get some good deals if patient at Sam's. Sometimes 6 quart boxes as low as $20. Usually between $20 and $30. I do like for ease of use and storing. I agree though at the singleton prices, no way I can justify that.

Thanks. You always come through. 🫡
Interesting that the Mobil 1 in the second test seems to show pistons just as clean as in the pics shown for Valvoline Restore and Protect. And this appears to be Mobil 1 Extended Protection, not even Advanced Clean. And it just so happens this is on a Pentastar, which powers my Jeeps. I'd call that solid evidence that my engines don't need Valvoline Restore and Protect or Mobil 1 Advanced Clean. So it appears to support my hypothesis in a pretty strong way.

What's more impressive is that they used the crappy fuel. I run mostly Top Tier.

The next test, which was the 120,000 mile test, was even more impressive! My engines get treated MUCH better than these, with much shorter OCI's and probably better oil filters.

Pretty good reasoning to me.

I will add though that the arguments to keep running whatever your current favorite synthetic is over Valvoline Restore and Protect are eerily similar to those who argued to keep running conventional oils instead of synthetic oils “because they’d never had a problem with conventional before” so why switch?

To me, the leap to Valvoline Restore and Protect from regular synthetics feels very analogous to the advance to synthetic oils from dino. But I do appreciate those who keep running other oils, keeping demand a little lower for Valvoline Restore and Protect and hopefully keeping the price lower for me in the long run.
