Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is here

Yes, it is.
But if that was tested and they got proof of it. Then it's 100% legit.
You can prove them wrong if you test the oil the way they advertise it (at least 4 OCI). Then measure the percentage cleaned and find out if it's 100% or lower. That means to open apart your engine and took as many pictures as possible (particularly of pistons and piston rings) before and after the use of Valvoline Restore and Protect.
which is unreasonable

I've been using Walmart/Costco/Amazon oil for over 25 years. All made by Warren. Scope my engine, and as far as I can tell they've all looked perfect. If spending a lot for oil makes you happy, go for it. I wait until Costco puts it on sale and I buy 8 jugs and shipping is free.
We are finally getting a Costco here should open in a month or two. I'll check out the oil...
But according to the test between super tech and Mobil 1 conducted by the oil guy super tech faired well but not as good as the top name brands. I guess if changed on a regular basis and one doesn't run the hell out of the engine it should be fine...me thinks

I do find the advertising interesting: “The first motor oil proven to return pistons to factory clean, removing up to 100% of deposits in four consecutive oil changes and continuing to defend against future buildup with regular use”.

So, is it “up to 100%” or “factory clean”? Obviously factory clean would be 100% deposit free.

I’m just nitpicking as the oil is well proven to work, but interesting wording IMO

Same here; Supertech oil and filter for $17 and I still have enough to buy a donut for my efforts. :ROFLMAO:
LOL: Walmart has a box of 8 donunts for about $3.84.
Why settle for 1 donut when you can have 8 donuts.

I am a believer in DIY: For oil changes, ATF fluid changes, air and cabin air filters, etc.
Once you do it the first time, it's like riding a bike, you never forget. You can save a ton of time and money,
and use the oil and filter that you want.

Walmart’s prices on oil changes are tempting to not have to deal with the mess. Not for our SUV and diesel pickup that call for 20 grade oils though. For those, it’s totally worth the mess to me to run 30 grade in them. By the time I do those two, I figure I might as well go ahead and do whatever other engines we have too.

My son took his wife's Tucson to Walmart for OC. He said he wanted the Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30, it calls for 5W-20. They had him pull a fresh bottle off the shelf and give it too them. They had no issues with it and gave him the 1/2 quart not used so he could put it in his spare/top off bottle.

I've never been sad I did my own work.
