There was more traffic than normal in this interval but still 50% traffic, 50% highway. The gearing in my car places my engine at 4000rpm, probably not the easiest of rpm range. No auto-x in this range, but a decent amount of WOT and ac use around town. No fuel or oil additives.

I am not happy with the amount of Lead and Iron but I am happy with the Al. Although just looking at the numbers the report appears to be pretty good. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It looks like the 5w-30 is showing lower Fe and Pb levels. I'd go back to the thicker stuff for two intervals in a row and see if the numbers don't improve. Of course I'm picking nits here, since the amount of wear is low in all these test results. Still, given the CA climate a thicker oil may be preferred.

Wow, I am used to more comments on my topics from this website. I guesse 5w20 has become a non-issue.

In blackstone comments they mention that the high lead levels might be due to a particle a particle streak. If so how long should I expect these types of results. I see a lot of UOA's on this family of engines and none of them seem to have as elevated Pb numbers as this running other 5w20 oils. Is this a M1 thing or engine thing?

I believe this is most likely the problem. Give it a couple more intervals with what your using since it looks like the trend is heading back down. If you switch now, and it lowers, you'll draw the wrong conclusion.

Note that, except for latter stages of break-in, the Pb showed up when you switched labs.

Surprise, think the reason that you don't have much feedback is your posting reflects an outstanding UOA, on an extended interval, for a relatively unsexy m1 0-20

Now if you were dosing with LC/FP, and using something other than M1 you would probably be a candidate for best UOA of the year.

keep it up

I've been getting lead readings between 0-1 from Blackstone on my Si using Exxon 5w-20. Plus my iron has been trending down. I've never auto-x mine & see very little rush hour stop & go traffic.

My last UOA will have another UOA in the next couple weeks.

I like to see the high TBN's on the 0w20 after 9k as I'm running mine out to 10k on my '01 Civic. Although some feel lower wear than M1 (with PP) is more of a gauge to go by than the TBN.

You're KILLING your engine....

...with kindness!

Keep doing what you're doing.

The TBN was still in the 4-6 rangine after 7-10k miles indicating 10k + miles is capable on any of these oils.
