Im a newb but here are my questions:
I know Mobil 1 is a group III but is Mobil 1 4T a true synthetic? I have an older car that specifies a 10W-40 oil, can I use 4T in it(it has no catalytic converter). Can you mix 4T with regular conventioanl 10 W-40? Does 4T protect more then the fake synthetics? Thanx

Yes, it's a PAO/V based oil. It's an excellent oil along with the 20w50 V-Twin.

Mobil 1 is a blend of synthetic base oils. Some are IV/V and some use some Grp III/V etc.

Who told you that? Can you provide a source for this?

Mobil does not answer that it is pao, if it was, they would have proudly stated it.

Plus if castrol can sell a cheaper fake synthetic oil for the price of a real synthetic, why is mobil gonna keep selling reals synthetic.

And if both Mobil 1 4T and Mobil 1 are synthetics, and 4T just has the friction modifiers taken out, why is it 3 bucks more? Because 4T is probably true synthetic, while Mobil 1 is a fake synthetic. Granted, Mobil 1 is a really good oil with good cleaning agents
