Maybe he thinks it has something to do with them being able to use 5w20. I don't. But is a change. Probably the only thing they changed, since clearances didn't. Who knows why they went to 6qts. Did they increase the OCI too?

Running 10W30 in the 97 4.6L SOHC engine and 5W30 in the 03 4.6L GT SOHC engine. Both are using Mobil 1.

I would not use a 20 weight oil if you are the least bit hard on your engine.
