Just had my first oil sample done. The van has 252,000 miles. I'm a rookie but it looks OK to me. Oil filter is motorcraft FL 820S.

Blackstone recommends to go 8k for next change.

Id change it every 7000 miles. That leaves you with a safety buffer. You don't want to stretch it out to the max because your driving conditions could be different next change. More traffic for example.

Looks good to me. I would go to 10K OCIs however. I ran 10K OCIs in my Ford Modular with M1 30Wt. oils for 218K and the engine was still great when I sold it.

Point well taken. My air filter has 15k on it. Was going to swap it out to see if silicon levels drop.

Actually, the more miles the better air filter traps dirt until it clogs up. You should not change air filter so often unless you live/drive in a very dirty area. Most air filters in most driving conditions should last 30-40k miles.

I think these points are often downplayed, where as not everyone's application stays static or even if dynamic not all get UOAs done frequently, if ever more than once or twice on a given app. So, best to play it safe, IMO.
