back story:
weed eater is 5 years old, i got it for 50 bucks rebuilt from sears. never had a problem till this year. it started running rough and dying at idle. it was clearly a carb problem but i changed the plug anyway. when i had the plug out i noticed a heavy carbon build up on the piston, it was chunky!! any way i figured MMO would be the best for cleaning a 2 stroke carb because its pretty much a lite oil. anyway i added 1 ounce to my 10 ounce tank (guessing)and ran the heck out of it. each time i refilled i added more and more mmo to the tank. last fill was 3-4 ounces mmo with straight gas (was out of 2 stroke oil) it smoked like a train and was very sluggish but when the tank was gone i pulled the plug and saw the piston was very clean now. when i refilled with the proper mix i noticed the old stumble was gone and it didnt die anymore when at idle. my conclusion: MMO in large amounts can clean a 2 stroke carb and replace the need for mix gas, although it will smoke...ALOT! but when a a carb kit and labor is more than a new weed eater anything is worth a shot

I believe it, alot of folks (myself included) use MMO as an after run oil for racing two strokes.

I once as a kid locked up the motor in a saturn doing do-nuts. Pulled the plugs and put some MMO in there and let it sit over night, the next morning it cranked smoked for a min then cleared up and ran great for years!

Yep, I've had good success with MMO in my 2-stroke lawnmower. It's done a nice job of helping the engine start more consistently.

Darn, I made a decision to start TCW3 as gas additive in my carburated boat.
Now, looks like MMO would clean the carb even more.
Decisions, decisions!
I hate to run them both as I routinely add Stabil anyhow.
Feels like 3 additives are too many!
