What would be the minimum speed required in an area where the speed limit is 40 miles per hour?

I believe I have only seen minimum speed requirements on Interstate and limited access highways.

None, unless endangering traffic, meaning you have a mechanical issue.
Minimum speed is on multi-lane highways with a speed limit of 65mph or higher.
I'm not sure, but the ones who know seem to always end up in front of me.
They have nowhere to go, and all day to get there.

What kind of speed would be endangering traffic in a 40 mile per hour zone?
Can I drive between 30 and 35 miles per hour without breaking some kind of traffic law?
obviously, I am confused as to the line of questioning, I would say a good 1/3 of the people already do this, not sure why but they do.

Well I knew a guy who said he was pulled over for going 5 mph on some substances... I'd say he was probably under the minimum!
going 5 mph when you are high on weed is a bit obvious, a lot of people get paranoid and they think they are driving faster then they actually are.
I have never seen any of this myself but have studied plenty of these case studies in college.

You would not believe how angry people get with me. What I do on a regular basis is pull over to the far right into the bike lane and let people go by if I can, but sometimes there's no bike lane and nowhere to go.
you go 30 in a 40 all the time? I would be one of those people who be irritated.
any particular reason? If you are an elderly, I never react because there could many reasons for it, otherwise why? hindering the traffic is fun or the posted speed limits are too high for the area?
I did grow up in a very nice neighborhood which had a lot of uphill and downhill on this three lane (each direction) road, and it was 50 mph, and the stop lights were not timed as good as they could be because a lot of times it was hard to stop going downhill on a red light.

Yes I have two reasons:
1. Some of the roads are too tore up to drive a full 40 miles per hour.
2. The faster a person drives, the longer they wait at the red light.
You would have to find out your local laws to know for sure but I’m willing to bet 30-35 in a 40 will not be breaking any laws.
I have to ask thou. Do you think going 30-35 rather than 40 is going to make much difference as far as wear and tear(I assume that’s why your driving slow given your previous post) or is there another reason?

I have people on a regular basis pass me up when the light has already turned red, and 9 times out of 10, are at the red light waiting when I get there. Where's the logic in that?
Assuming you aren't trolling us, my advice is to regularly drive at or very near the speed limit. Slow driving is irritating to many people and people having to pass someone who is holding up traffic actually causes some danger to themself and others.
On "Canada's Worst Drivers" some years ago, one of the participants was a priest who could not bring himself to drive at normal highway speeds. His friends realized he was a danger on the roads and nominated him for the show. He got the help he needed and with some support was eventually able to drive at a normal speed. If you're like him, I suggest you sign up for some help too.

That is not your problem. That is law enforcement problem.
Same as people who think driving in the left lane at the speed limit is OK, regardless of whether there are faster vehicles. The law says: slower vehicles in the right lane. If someone in the left lane is breaking the law by speeding, that is not the driver's problem, but a law enforcement problem.
You could be and probably will be pulled over eventually if you create a backlog.
My friend in ATL got a ticket for doing exactly that.
A family friend was ticketed by Florida Highway Patrol for impeding traffic on I-75. She was actually driving the speed limit but doing so in the left hand lane. A line of cars formed behind her and that was sufficient for the trooper to issue a ticket.
Even better, you should drive the same speed as the rest of the traffic. If lots of people are piling up behind you or passing you, you're driving too slow.
