Mini 5W-30 oil

Is this stuff the same as the BMW 5W-30 oil? So it should be Castrol Softec, relabled as Mini or BMW oil?

For what it's worth, my daughter owns a Mini. Her documentation in some places tells her to use Castrol Syntec, in other places to use Mini oil, and still other places to use Mobil 1. I asked the dealer what they use and waqs told that they use Mobil 1.

I have an '02 MCS. There's a sticker on the engine bay and in the owners manual that says "MINI recommends Castrol." Many people (including myself) are using Mobil 1 5w-30 since it was/is a better oil that regular Syntec. My next change will be with GC 0w-30. We'll see how that goes.
