I am going to use Militec-1 as the gun oil for my guns. I will probably use either Hoppes or Kleen Bore Formula 3 for cleaning the gun and if necessary a copper remover for the barrel.

I was using TW25B grease and it seemed to work okay but I have come to the conclusion that for guns a gun oil is better. This Militec-1 stuff is supposed to be the gun oil used by a lot of American soldiers in Afganistan and Iraq.

Mystic militec is an awesome lubricant but it does not protect from rust in any way. My suggestion to you is to get a free sample form Militec and do your own rust prevention test. I am willing to bet that it will fail miserably.

If I remember correctly, I think Militec's best feature is good lubricity from ocean salt. Some folks see the words "rust inhibitor" on a can of oil & think that it says "rust preventer"... two different animals entirely. Inhibit means to "discourage"... & yet how many times have you discouraged your kids from doing something... yet they still did the exact opposite?... lol

The Military also uses Breakfree CLP in the Mideast & rumors has it that they will be switching to Eezox Gun Oil.....

Cleans, lubricates and protects
Eliminates stiff actions, jamming and residue build-up
Harmless to even powders and primers associated with muzzleloaders & cartridge reloading.
Non-flammable (not a petroleum based product)
Dry to the touch on guns in use or stored
Functions from +450F to -95F

Militec is a very good gun oil, widely used amongst gun owners. EeZox is an excellent rust preventer, my choice for storing firearms.

There are so many rumors out there, and very little facts.

So far BreakFree CLP is one of 3-4 major products on the QPL for 63460D. That MIGHT change with 63460E...
