Hi,
As noted in another post, we seem to be having a bit of a water issue.
The water table in the area is high, that is well known. Most folks have sump pumps and get water in their basements in most any normal to bad rain.
We dont regularly get water in, and we do not have a sump pump.
Our walls have a smooth stucco of sorts over a steel mesh. The PO also seemingly painted with a drylok type paint overtop.
Over the last few months, in spots where the old stucco had fallen off and the PO had painted over, we have noted discoloration. One spot is bad, wondering if anyone can comment on the severity and best mitigation:
In the spots where the discoloration is forming, there is efflorescence, some "bubbling up" of the concrete where it is expanded and crumbling, and then this discoloration. No spores or growths up off the surface, just a purplish discoloration of the white painted concrete.
Any thoughts?
