Microwave took a dump....

Sounds like my area - but this Kenmoore unit isn't a GE, it's a Whirlpool. It will not be possible to separate them.

Sears wants $45 to take a look see and won't be until the 15th.

I can't access the components to check from the front panel.

I simply can't even think about taking the old one out by myself. That sucker is so heavy!!

The $50 unit looks good, but now it's turned into a logistics problem.

Out of pure laziness and necessity, that's what the wife is doing right now. So when/if we sell the house, any ideas?

We scored. A SHARP R-308JS-F. Brand New $44 (they knocked 30% off the sale price at Tar-xay because I asked, what's up with that?)

Made in Thailand.

Midsize.

So called rated at 1100 watts (I doubt it)

Door louder than a rusty '59 Ford. Sounds like Hoover Dam coming on line while powering a 100,000,000 yottawatt laser.

Cool. Takes like 4 minutes to get 10 oz of water lukewarm. Score!

sears nukers are mostly made by sanyo.at least the older ones.
a common cause of random fuse blow is a problem with the triac or its drive componants.
i have seen spike damaged triacs and drive problems from corrosion from glue and even roach [censored] on the board.
sanyo magnetrons usually stink when they short due to insulator breakdown.
too bad you are so far away as i can likely fix this unit easily.

This isn't a stand alone Sanyo. It's a Whirlpool combo oven and microwave Model# 665.4433452. I could fix it too IF I could get it out by myself. The full unit is VERY heavy and I can't get at the top microwave components to troubleshoot them. Maybe you can come over and help slide the fat bass-turd out onto some blocks!!

i can get a forklift and powered pallet jack to use.
shipping is gonna be a killer though.
did the builder set the unit in place then build the house around it?
