I'm using these for my 2L Outlander Sports
I was looking for new filters to use on my new 2016 C Max Hybrid SE.
On Amazon they listed the same number for the C Max ( MG101-7 )
That would be great because I have a dozen of them but it does not jive with other cross references
and I did contact MG and they say yeah.......... But The Mitsubishi and C Max does not cross with just about every other filter on the market.
Also several companies are not even listing 2016 models yet- although the 2015 in this application is the same.

Anybody know?
Thanks!

The 101-7 is the same MG filter that I recently bought for my '13 2.5 Subaru Outback. I'm anxious to try them out and see if I get any better UOA results on insolubles.

You may check with your local Ford dealership and verify that the filter for the '16 is the same as it was for the '15.

Thanks BHopkins

So far I like the MG filters but I use them for one OC only with FS oil and run them out to 10K
My Ford dealer would handle all of this cheaply but I don't like the MC filters or their 0w20 oil
plus I have always done my own oil changes but with these cars I'm going to have to ramp it to get off the
shield underneath- a bit of drama but that's why I don't want the MC stuff on it.
The manual does indicate the 2015 and 2016 take the same filters.
But only MG says their filter interchanges- the others don't.

My 2014 Focus takes a MG 201-1....it also takes a MC FL-910-S (which I avoid because of the Purolator tearing issue).
The MG-201-1 is the cross referenced filter to the MC-910-S.

When you say 'FS' oil are you talking about Formula Shell? Are you running this dino 10K with a MG filter?

Thanks
FS means Full Synthetic- sorry
Looks like MG screwed up because my car takes the same filter as yours!

My 2012 Mazda3 Skyactiv uses the MG101-7. It does not use the same Fram or Beck Arnley cross reference filter as the 2013 Subaru mentioned above. I've been using them for about 40,000 miles thus far. I did the 30,000 mile OCI with three filters and now I'm on round two. Seems odd that a single MG part number crosses to so many others.

Yeah it does. They are pretty small too and as noted my Mitsubishis use it too.
It would be great having three cars use the same filter though. I will come them tomorrow.

The MG101-7 is smaller diameter, but longer, than the OEM Mazda filter. I suppose the most important factors are throughput and bypass pressure. So, maybe they've compromised on the size aspect. The filter for the aforementioned Subaru looks larger than the MG101-7 in the photos I saw on Rock Auto.

I don't have an OEM Subaru filter to compare the MG101-7 to. But the MG is less than 2 mm (5/64" for you metric averse people) taller than the NAPA Gold Very same diameter. I just measured them both with my trusty Mitutoyo calipers.

Not enough difference to amount to anything inside. In fact, I would expect the MG to be a little longer to allow for the bypass filter.

Somewhere here it has been mentioned that MG has a larger (longer) filter that will fit the same filter mount. I recall our fellow member that works for Fram has mentioned a Fram filter that is longer. I have meant to send an email to MG and ask about that, but haven't yet. I have room for a longer filter and would like the additional filter media surface area.

Okay, so I got curious and just looked at the specs for each oil filter listed on the MicroGreen website. They only have two filters with the M20 - 1.5 threads. the MG101-7 and the MG201-7. The 201-7 is 2 mm shorter than the 101-7, but 11 mm larger in diameter.

The 2016 Ford C-Max L4 2.0L would use our MG201-1
This was their reply even though Friday the website didn't list a 2016 and listed the 2015 as the wrong filter- so that's taken care of.
