I still have to cut it open.. but I put a micro-green filter on my Honda... I had a gift card for amazon.. Now I had 6000 miles on regular Mobil high mileage oil and the oil was so clean it looked new.. I actually have a small leak and my father would take paper towel and wipe it off his drive wave and on prior oil changes he would tell me my oil was dirty or dark.. However with the MICRO-GREEN he has told me for months your oil is so clean it looks new.. So after 6000 miles i changed it and put back A01 and Pennzoil Pure Plus ... I will probably never use a Microgreen filter again and I still have to cut it open.. I tell you the filter looks like its going to be hard to cut open as its very soild..

Thats very true... However he has been wipeing up a quater size oil spot in his driver way for years... When my oil was black he would tell me.....However this last oil change i did he kept saying your oil looks like new.... Even when I changed it the oil looked super clean...

Hmmmm

So your saying the microgreen filter had nothing do with that??? b/c I have been doing oil changes on this car for years and have never ever seen that.

So if you're having seemingly great results (oil looks new after 6k), why would you "never use a Microgreen oil filter again"?

I agree, the Microgreen all comes down to price for me.... it seems to filter just as well as others, but when you can pick up a Fram Ultra at Walmart for $8.99 or less vs. Microgreen at $10 from Amazon, it loses some luster.

However, all of the Microgreens I have had cut open (MG201-7 and MG301-1) have looked great inside. However, mine are all the older green can ones, I haven't tried any of the white cans. I'll use my stock, but after that it's either XG3600/3593A or Napa Gold 1516/7055 for me depending on if I need them when the Farm & Fleet sale is going on at $3.50

Because I'm a one filter per OCI kind of guy.

Get a used oil analysis with particle count in back to back oil changes, same oil but one change a Microgreen, the other oil change a Mobil 1.

Actually.....

Get a ISO cleanliness code done on the oil.... That actually means something... A particulate count doesn't mean nothing... A 3 code ISO oil cleanliness test will give real answers to how clean or dirty a oil is after use....

When see the words "particle count" I assume it's the ISO PC, and not the "insolubles" number in a used oil analysis, which isn't a particle count, just a percentage number.

I think the "insolubles" is automatically part of the UOA (Blackstone at least), and it's not really a particle count.

I got it free on amazon.. I had a free amazon gift card and said what the heck ill try one.. Mine was very heavy S.O.B probably the most heavy oil filter I have ever picked up for my car and the seal.. 4x as thick as any seal i have seen for my car.. I think they are probably very profitable and and save $ for fleet cars or trucks that run 1000s of miles per day... I do not think clean oil will hurt anything.. It cant be bad put it that way...
