Microgard MGL10290 filter off of the 2020 Equinox AWD with the 1.5T engine we recently bought. Mileage and oil unknown. Dealer supposedly changed oil I seriously doubt it. Filter and drain plug were on WAY too tight. Seems well built although the inside of the top cap has some roughness around the holes and threaded piece. There was nothing at all in the bottom of the can. I'll cut the filter out after it drains a bit.

What went back on and in?

Thank You

interesting filter, i didn’t know regular microgard’s had silicone ADBV’s. maybe premium guard is listening to us

I got two MGL from Oreilly a couple days ago because they sent a $10 off coupon and I got the two for $1.78 including tax.
They are made in India, nearly identical to the Purolator Tech line. The base has different shaped holes. The fram ph3614 size was made in Vietnam like this one, didn’t get that one. Looks good though.
So here is the hornets nest, I think they are all made by Wix under Mann Hummel. Oreilly uses the Wix numbers and I can’t see that they buy one filter from premium guard and another from Wix. Likely it’s all from Wix including the Select. Premium Guard isn’t a manufacturer in Vietnam but maybe I am wrong. I would guess Wix buys them from the same manufacturer as PG, or even has their own factory in VN.
Purolator, boys. Wouldn’t that be funny.
Dealers do use Oreilly for their used cars, I bought one from a Ford dealer and thats what they have sent to the shop on the used cars. Change the oil/filter on all of them.

This will have to do. I thought I'd wait until the oil drains out and cut it. Very even all the way around. Sorry, new to this.

It's an acquired skill. @53' Stude will guide you in your journey from Padawan to Knight.

I myself have waited a couple days (or months) to post the pictures so I could share all the ones you have and the drained/blotted/cut open filter media also. Life sometimes gets in the way of "I'll cut this open tomorrow"

@AZjeff thanks for sharing your Microgard Equinox filter. This one seems to be a good buy.

I got that $10 off $10 coupon too. I thought that I'd spend enough & earned enough "Orewards". 😅
I bought a Microgard fuel filter for my 97 Hardbody.

MicroGard Selects made in Vietnam are not "Wix made" - ie, made by Mann+Hummel. The subject filter in post 1 wasn't made by M+H in Vietnam. O'Reilly doesn't use Wix numbers for the MicroGard Select line. The ones made in India very well could be M+H based.

Premium Guard has all of these brands made in the Vietnam factory - ie, AFI = Advanced Filtration Inc.

I don't doubt most filters would catch these, but it's interesting to see them so visible, if these were individual hard carbon pieces, having them flowing thought the engine would be scary...even if they get caught

I see what you mean. I misread it earlier. Thank You
