Oh yah, tell me this, who has the bigger budget for R&D?

I do have Meguire's Professional Heavy, Medium, Fine Cut Cleaner, Vinyl/Rubber Conditioner,Vinyl/Rubber Cleaner. But I like 3M Finesse-It and Perfect It line of Machine Polish better. I have both Meguires Professional Hand Glaze, which is the equavalent to 3M Hand Glaze, and I prefer 3M Hand Glaze. Meguire's Professional Paste Wax is nowhere as good as 3M Perfect-It Paste Wax.

I mean so what if Meguire's been around for 100 years. Mike-in-Orange, go check out 3M website's Automotive Products, and come back and tell me who has more products.

Better yet, go to meguire and count their products and count 3M's automotive products(including hardware, paint sprays, injector cleaners, etc) tally their numbers and tell me what numbers you came up with. Just want to prove that you are wrong about the so called "very extensive" Meguire Products.

Pleae fill in here:

Meguire's number of Products_____________

3M number of Products_________________

This is just the sort of baseless discussion I wanted to avoid, which is why the second paragraph in my post was worded the way it was.

I suppose if 3M has more products then they simply must be better - how can a reasonable person argue with that? China is therefore better because it has more people. GM is better because it has more divisions and models.

Gosh, if only Meguiar's made painters tape, my life would be complete.

Seriously though, you obviously like 3M and have great success with it. Fact of the matter is there are plenty of different product lines out there that will give great results if proper techique is used - Sonus, Zaino, Poorboys, Menzerna etc. Why bash any one of them just because you have a preference? Reread my post and you'll see I wasn't saying anything negative against 3M, only pointing out that Meguiar's has an extensive Professional line and how, relatively, new that line is to the company. The comment made by the poster I was responding to seemed as though he wasn't aware of this, and a lot of people aren't.

I am fully aware of Meguiar's "Professional Line" of products and have tried them on two wet sanding jobs. The paint supply house I use carries both and I couldnt resist trying the meguiars since it was substantially cheaper than the 3M equivalent.
Lucky for me I only bought the 16oz containers and I still had a good supply of 3M left, which I ended up using.
IMO the meguiar's pro line is not much better than the consumer grade and around here can be bought over the counter at three different chain auto parts stores. If you like it and it works good for you then more power to ya....

Used Megs clay bar for the first time recently, followed by their carnauba wax and have now got the best finish I have had on any car in 50 years of looking after cars. Can thoroughly recommend.
