Collinite all the way. In my opinion the two are apples and oranges. Megs Ult is a great OTC product but Collinite is far and beyond more durable and comperable to Megs in terms of shine.

Honest answer: No, I've not tried Meg's Ultimate and yes, I do like Collinite. I think Collinite 845 is my favorite go-to wax.

I've tried alot of waxes, especially a good deal of Meg's wax brands. I always go to Collinite for longevity and ease of use.

Yes and Collinite is superior. Megs Ult is great for the typical weekend warrior as it is easy to find and gives good results. Collinite has to either be ordered online or some farm supply stores have them but the difference between the two is vast. I tried Megs before I switched to professional waxes (such as Megs M26 and Collinite) and it was good but not as good as the perviously mentioned waxes.

Do you prefer M26 to ultimate wax also?

M26 is more of a "beauty" wax. It offers very little in terms of durability. It does smell, and look nice. I've had a bottle for 6 years, and it's still >75% full -- if that says anything.

A "beauty" wax is more of your Pinnacle and Wolfgang waxes. M26 is a good all around wax that isn't as strong as a sealant but gives decent durability (4-5 weeks depending on weather conditions and strength of car wash soap you use like a cirtus based wash.) Comparing M26 to Collinite isnt fair as they are different types of waxes. M26 is my go to wax in the spring and summer and Collinite is for the fall and winter.

Yes, and for the coin they get for those two products (even with coupons/discounts on Autogeek), they SHOULD give one beauty AND GREAT longevity/durability as well!!

Yes, Collinite is FAR superior. It's a one legged horse running against a 10,000 horsepower dragster.

M16 was amazing wax but they haven't made it in years and it isnt terribly easy to get a hold of what is left in the market.

You missed the bonanza that happened couple years ago; I only picked up couple of cans but some people went crazy as the price was insanely cheap. It even survives New England winter. A single can will last you a lifetime. Even after doing two cars and a minivan, the can is barely used.

I hope you can see the pictures

M16 waxed on 09/2009; still beads water as of 06/2010

Wicked jealous. Car looks great. I still can't figure out why they dropped M16. Maybe like you said, one can could last a lifetime. I keep searching the yard sales in the area hoping to find the one poor sap who doesn't know any better and sells a tub for $2
