Measuring oil volume using scale and density?

I think they meant a Pint cost you one Quid - back when the old adage was coined :)

I thought that was four and twenty blackbirds?

Anyhoo I just did the experiment on a Hario digital scale. I weighed a Pyrex two cup measuring pitcher and tared the scale. Then I filled the pitcher to the one pint level. Back on the scale it read 447 grams which is close enough for 16oz or one pound.

There is a Australian meat pie called Four and Twenty. Might good eating.

Just make sure you use a measuring cup designed for liquid measure and not dry measure. It's is a real thing and the measurements are not the same.
Good point …

OR.. just pour in several quarts and add to the top of dipstick. I imagine a measuring cup and funnel and one quart oil container are pretty easy to find.
Is this a science experiment ??
Whatever the loose quart oil containers are that you have. They can be used for this..
