Well I'm not sure how to answer your questions precisely. The chart is something I found on the internet, I don't know the date for that chart. It has a bit better detail than the sides of the product boxes.
I've taken pics of the oldest (2012) and newest (2015) MO-899 in my stash. The exploded views on those boxes don't show any construction changes from what I can see. However both the "long" part number and UPC codes have changed
Here's the 2012 version, purchased last year on closeout at Menard's.
Box Front (Box Back is identical) - black background with white text at the bottom. Uses the word "Authentic" and lists 5 brands.
2012 Box Text Side - 'long' part number 1-04884899AB. Bold alphanumeric sequence MF1823. Stuttgart, Germany address near the bottom.
2012 Box Exploded View Side
2012 Dome End with Date Code - April 27, 2012 Second Shift Line 7 (maybe)?
Here's the 2015 version, purchased at O'Reilly with a $5 off $5 or more coupon
2015 Box Front (& Back) - word "Genuine" used, grey background with black text at bottom, 10 brands listed
2015 Box Text Side - 'long' part number 0488 4899 AC-001. Bold alphanumeric sequence MF2B39. Torino, Italy address near the bottom.
2012 Box Exploded View Side
2015 Dome End with Date Code - April 29, 2015 Second Shift Line 7 (maybe)?
Filter cases with different 'long' part numbers
Filter box bottoms with UPC codes - black background is 2012, gray background is 2015
Filter baseplate ends - no visible difference to me
I haven't purchased any MO-899 filters at Walmart but I wouldn't expect differences other than vintage as shown here.
Why are the 'long' part numbers and UPC codes different? I have no idea. But visually, including looking down the center tubes, the construction appears identical to me.
