Replaced the MC cartridge filter today in the Fusion. Sorry no pics(Can't figure out how to get pics from camera to BITOG). The oil and filter have 9K so I wanted to see how the MC filter looked after that many miles. It had a slight twist to it but nothing extreme, and no grit or particles that I could see in the pleets, or in the filter cap. I did replace the filter with a Bosch cartridge, and will change the oil and filter in another 2K or so.

You just replaced the filter only this time, no changing oil ? And you'll change oil and filter in 2k miles ?

If you see no grits nor particles in the filter pleats then why change it ? The filter is doing it best in filtering at the end of its life, isn't it ?

Some filter twist is normal after removing a cartridge filter from a Ford 2.3 I-4. How much do you pay for the Bosch filter? I was at Wal-Mart today and checked on the price of the MC filter for my Fusion, I think it was $5.67.

Not sure on the price. I bought the Mobil 1 oil and filter special last month at AZ. Since they didn't have the Mobil 1 filter AZ gave me the Bosch in it's place.
Also I did lube both ends on the Bosch so will see how that works.

Just wanted to see how the MC filter looked after 9K. I've used mostly M1 spin on filters with my other cars, but since the Fusion has cartridge type filters I wanted to examine the quality of the MC. Must say it looked good to me.

If the MC was doing such a good job why did you change to Bosch?? I bet it was because you saved a dime and over the years that will be a big savings. lol

Do you have a real question, or are you just being internet cute?
