Manual says to use a MB 229.5 oil, in a 0W-40 or 5W-40 full synthetic...

Pennzoil Synpower or Castrol Syntec?

Other choices?

On grounds I may sound stupid I just have to ask what is Pennzoil Synpower, I know of Valvoline Synpower.

There is no Valvoline Synpower at retail level that meets the MB 229.5 spec.

Out of the readily available and reasonably priced oils, M1 0w-40 is the way to go.

M1 0w40. I feel the PU Euro is a little 'weak' on the add pack but it still meets the spec. Plus the M1 has a a slightly higher VI.

What values do you look at to determine if the oil has a strong add pack?
