So, the wife and I purchased this vehicle in the fall and it's been a great vehicle thus far. The dealer gave us two free oil changes and we've already used one up. I typically do my own maintenance and once we use up that next oil change I'll be doing my own. Because of ease and price, Walmart is the go-to for oil and filters. The car calls for 0w20, which is what I'll stick with, but I know some regions use 5w30. While shopping at Walmart, I took a stroll down the automotive aisle to see my options. I'm debating going with a euro spec since it's the same price and I like the add packs, and frankly, I think they're better oils that have gone through more strenuous tests to achieve those certifications. The options were Castrol Edge Euro, Mobil 1 Euro and Mobil 1 Euro ESP. They were all priced similarly and I'm sure all would be fine for my application. I'm not sure what the dealer used, but Mazda oil is Idemitsu, with some dealers using Castrol as an alternative. The car is mainly short tripped being that my wife works in town, but 90% of the time it runs on electric only. So, are any of those flavors mentioned superior over the other?
