Mazda CX3 at local dealer now.

On my way home from work tonight I drove by the Mazda dealer in Carlsbad, CA. and they had a dark blue CX3 out front under the bright lights. The dealership was closed for the night but I took a walk around and peeked inside the windows. It is a great looking little CUV. I will probably stop by tomorrow before work and sit inside the CX3, and possibly test drive.

They only had the one, and it was the fully loaded GT model for $29,040.

The rear seat looks like a joke in that picture. Is the trunk/cargo space a joke too? Lastly fuel economy is nothing to write home about compared to a normal sized small SUV.

I did peek and understand the vehicle now. Its starts at $20k which the size etc makes more sense.

Wow, bash-fest. Guess what? The price point and specs are no doubt right on with other cars in this category. Should be a fine car if the size works for you.

Why does Mazda wait until the vehicle has been on sale to make the configurator live?

I'm bummed that it can't have a manual transmission.

It can...in Australia! You can even have a diesel here, although I think that's automatic only

I may be the odd man out here. I like both, the exterior and interior. Very sharp looking vehicle. Not sure i'd pick it over the newly designed 1.6Turbo Tucson though (unashamedly biased

). But this Mazda is very nice.

I like them. Just super disappointed that it is not available at all as a FWD or with a manual transmission.

I just think they're a useless class of cars. A small CUV.
Its too small to be useful, yet still gets as bad of gas mileage as their larger siblings.

Either get a compact car that gets 40 mpg, or buy a mid-sized CUV that gets closer to 30, but has useable cargo space.

This type of vehicle IS the worst of both worlds.

Who sat in a Mazda CX-5 (Or honda CR-V) and said "I like it but it really needs to be smaller." Or "I would like to pay the same price for less car, a weaker engine, and the same MPG."

I think they look good but i'm all about the practicality.

My wife and I first saw the CX-3 right after it rolled off the truck at our dealer here in Longmont, CO Thursday last week, and got to test drive it on Saturday.

Great little car.

Over 600 lbs lighter than the CX-5, 6 inches shorter in height, drives fine, with a peppy engine, and a great shifting transmission. Cornered slightly flatter than the CX-5, and handled the bumps equally as well.

Since the US and Canada are not going to get the redesigned Mazda 2, this is it if you want a Mazda smaller than the Mazda 3/CX-5.

Even C&D in their latest CUV comparo said, this is smaller cargo capacity than the 3. Kind of makes it head scratcher why would anyone buy this over a 3 hatch. The new chick car segment perhaps?

People who need to get around in inclement weather or live on the outskirts of civilization but don't want to drive anything bigger than necessary.

They backed out earlier this year. I believe the CX-3 took its spot and they are going to be selling the Mazda 2 here as the Scion something or another.

I expect there to be some push back in this thread on price...folks in the HR-V thread, myself included, were saying that $25-26k is a pretty hard ask for a Fit-based CUV. And I'd say the same about the CX-3...$29k is awfully steep when you can buy the next segment up CX-5, CR-V, or Escape for the same money. And $29k will buy you a pretty well-equipped C-segment CUV, too...
