Mazda 3 vs Toyota Matrix

matrix/corolla/vibe are very reliable...with routine maintenance they will last forever. for the most part very friendly to work on. minor issues are intake gasket will leak over time throwing a code, actuator for the hvac system will click and the belt tensioner will eventually leak. all of these are fairly easy to change out.

The manual transmissions are a lot less reliable than the A/T's in these Toyota based vehicles, disappointingly. A bearing in the transaxle is known to go south for some of the years' cars.

It is so, yes.... at least it is so in Canada.

Well the insurance adjuster called today. They are going to repair the car after all. He said the Mazda 3 was in great shape overall for a 2007. My daughter was ready to pull the trigger on the Matrix. It will cost her the $500 deductible but i'm sure that is better than having to put out a few more thousand to get another car.

Especially a car you know the history to.
