I’m planning to replace my engine mounts on my 2016 Mazda 3. I already have an OEM passenger side mount.

I’m wondering if I should go with Metzger for the rear mount (dogbone) to save some money since it’s cheaper than OEM. Will it feel basically the same? Is Metzger a decent brand for engine mounts or should I just stick with OEM?

is that the torque strut (lower) one? I typically like to go factory, and the best deals are from the Japanese e-Bay sellers. They are shipped from Japan using express shipping that takes only a few days. Find the factory PN and search e-Bay. Look for sellers with high ratings and lots of reviews.

My rule of thumb for such parts is based on ease of R&R. For example, the front mount on my Caravan takes literally 4-5 minutes to change. I have no issue using an off-brand mount and changing it more frequently...especially if the OEM mount is quite expensive.

If, on the other hand, the job is quite involved and/or takes significant time to complete, then I pony up for an OEM mount so I only have to do the job once.

I replaced the 3 mounts on my old 2000 focus, 2.0 Zetec ( Mazda engine and transmission) a while back with DEA/Marmon ( China?) mounts from Rock Auto and they have been good so far. YMMV
