No, I don't have a degree, I don't think I want one.
I absolutely hate going to school, I hate it! HATE IT!

You can download my resume here and see what I have:

I cannot deal with going to school very well, I never have been able to understand why one has to suffer through so much godawful, miserable schooling just to get a job.

head to the nearest Navy recruiter....or air force, they are "lighter"

No way, I would hate that kind of environment with a fiery passion, sorry man, it's not for me. I would never, ever join up with any kind of military organization.

and HCA has listings for a lot of stuff that I have no skills for.

let me guess, you can't be told what to do?
ahhhh, I think I've found why you can't get a job!

LT4 Vette, it will ask you for the three letter code at the top, there's a graphic that changes each time you load the page. Sometimes it will say the file is not available, just wait it out. I think it can only be downloaded so many times in a day or something. Sorry, I should find a better filehost.

and no, rsylvstr, I have little patience for being told what to do. I am not squeamish about admitting this, I just have no use for it. I, quite frankly, don't understand why so many people are so willing to be told what to do so readily, honestly. I live for myself and no one else.

It is clear that you and I will never see eye to eye on this and I do not wish to engage you any further on this topic.

A lot of the stuff people go to college to do, I have no interest in at all. None of the jobs listed on that HCA page are anything I could ever be interested in, even if I did have the magic piece of paper that would get me the job.

I guess I'm just not the type to be a good employee, huh? oh well :/ I am loyal to a fault once I find a place I like, hence the long stint at FedEx, I'm just feeling the pain of living in Memphis a little too much here lately.

I like to fiddle with computers, I like to make things with my hands, I like hands on, real, actual work, not crunching numbers or any kind of paper work or anything like that.

I would appreciate a refrain from any more "LOL you suck" types of posts, thanks.

LOL, you suck!
sorry, couldn't help it.

I recommend you post on www.monster.com
more exposure and people can easily see/download your resume. also, www.careerbuilder.com

Figured I would catch it from the Military types huh? I mean you guys are only the complete polar opposite of me?

Yeah. Thanks.

Memfrica is a new one on me. We always called it Membabwe. Memphis is a true craphole in every sense of the word.

Tennessee is a great place to live but then again I don't consider Membabwe part of Tennessee. The further east one travels in Tennessee the better it gets.

I can't help you with a job, but I applaud your decision to move. I have never understood people who continue to live in undesireable place and just whine about it.
Most cities suck. Move to a place where you feel safe, and look forward to waking up every day.
Go further east: Knoxville, Johnson City, Asheville, Upstate SC.
Check out the demographics before you move.

ROTFLMAO @ "Membabwe".

So I have about half of the people telling me that I suck, and the rest agreeing with my decision. Okay, That's fair.

*shrugs*

And I am sooo surprised this thread hasn't gotten gassed yet, I think this is the most politically incorrect thread on BITOG *ever*. I think it's awesome

The truth hurts.

I'd suggest going into business for yourself, except that your customers will also have a tendancy to tell you what they would like you to do.

My suggestion would be to examine what you could do where no one will tell you what to do, or try to find what circumstances you find it ok to "take orders"

Because it may be unrealistic to expect that you will never have to do what others want or expect you to do.

Even CEO's have to answer to the shareholders...

At some point, even the President of the US has to answer to congress and the voters.

We all have to follow or be accountable to someone. Finding a circumstance that works for you seems to be the issue.

Perhaps visit your local book store and buy a cup of joe or other beverage and leaf through the latest copy of "What Color is your Parachute"

If you find it helpful, buy that copy and do the exercises.
