Maxlife ATF gallon jug availability at Walmart

Last Saturday I search for Maxlife ATF gallon jug at local Walmart, their website indicates there are 3 gallons available at a nearest store. I didn't bother to reserve and pay for it online, went there within 1 hour and found only 1 gallon left. Talked to the automotive manager, he search his computer and said that is the only gallon remaining, and no other store nearby has it.

Today Walmart online show no Maxlife ATF available online and no store within 50 miles has it either.

Did one siphon with Mityvac 7201 and refill 4 quarts, need to do 2 more for the 8-qt capacity. just wait for Walmart to have it in stock again in the near future.

After driving that far, wouldn't the expense of buying a few individual QTs have been less than the expense of a return trip? Cars cost at least 50 cents/mile to run...so a 10 mile trip each way is not worth saving $5.00...

Alternatively, what's the price on Amazon?

So, should we believe there are two (or more) inventory databases? Seems like a violation of IT basics, storing supposedly "the same" data in multiple places.

HD same deal, "11 in store" on the website, none actually in reality.

There was a thread back about WM being unable to do basic inventory management (i.e keeping shelves stocked) I have noticed this when P10241 filter slide remains unfilled for weeks @ a time; I would care except AAP is on the other side of the parking lot

It kinda calls the inventory computer's bluff, and once they say its ready for pickup, its waiting for you.

That's what I do as I don't want to make multiple trips to Jersey....

It's always in stock at my local Walmart, but I usually get it for less at Meijer (with a Meijer coupon).

That being said try using Castrol Transmax Import Multi Vehicle ATF

I checked Walmart inventory first before I went there, I was nearby shopping center for some shopping, Walmart was about 3/4 miles away.

If I paid online then I need to wait for the email to confirm the order and bring that email to the store to pick up. I need to wait 2-3 hours for the email, I was ready to go shopping so I didn't have time to wait.

Amazon has it at $63 for 3 gallons plus tax to Californian, about $21/gal compares with $17 at WM. I wanted to change the ATF in the Volvo the next day which was Sunday. Why shouldn't I pay less and have it the day I want ? But I relied on Walmart online inventory too much, next time I will call first before going there.

If that Walmart store had individual ML ATF quarts I would bought it to save another trip, but it didn't have any.

You are just waiting new fluid doing it that way, if you take the return line that goes from the cooler to the transmission off, you can start the car up and pump the old fluid out of the line and not waste any fluid.

You are just waiting new fluid doing it that way, if you take the return line that goes from the cooler to the transmission off, you can start the car up and pump the old fluid out of the line and not waste any fluid.

Flushing the transmission with disconnect the return line is a little risky and can be real messy.

I searched and found that the Volvo can pump about 2 quarts in 30 seconds via return line, while pouring ATF in with a long funnel at less than 1 quart during that time.

You aren't too far away from me. There are two Autozones nearby me that sells a gallon of Maxlife ATF for $16 or $17. I thought when I 1st saw it that it was on closeout or special so I of course bought far more than I needed. Sometime later when I needed more, I looked and they had a healthily supply. Looks like it's their regular price... but this was nearly a year ago.

Looking at their online inventory, I don't see it listed. However I do see a gallon of Castrol TransMax for $18. I advise calling ahead since gas + the traffic makes price comparing by car very expensive in our area.

I cant get the Valvoline MAXX LIFE FULL SYHNTHETIC at walmart, and some say they have it but dont.

If I want to get it, NAPA has it for 52$ for 5 QTs

or I can go AMAZON.


Walmart has it for like 24$

crazy the local walmarts do not carry it and will not do the online order for it.

~$10 a quart? I use ML but it's not worth that.

Select area Wally's here have it for $17 a gallon. Occasionally WW will have it available for online order for a few bucks more with shipping, but it doesn't last long.

$23/gallon at Advance.

I have a bucket from the paint store, it is clear and has quart marks on it. First I drain and fill the 4 quarts in the sump, then I take the return line off and clip it to the edge of the clear bucket. I start the car and watch till about 3 quarts are pumped out, then I turn the car off, then pour 3 quarts into the sump. Then I start the car and let 3 quarts pump out while shifting through the gears, then shut the car off and put 3 quarts into the sump. then I start the car up and watch at approximately 2 quarts for bright red fluid to come out, then I turn the car off, hook the cooler line back on, check how much is in my bucket and make sure I put back in exactly the amount that came out. Then I enjoy my nice new 12 quarts of fresh transmission fluid.

I have a lid for the bucket, I take it to auto parts store and they dump it for me. Its not to messy.

They seem to be at every Walmart around here for under $17 a gallon. Walmart is weird for sure. Only the one on my more rural side of town sells MMO in the gallon containers.
