Max life blend Too few miles?

My sons 1993 Jeep 4.0L Cherokee has 58k miles, last fill I used Formula shell 10w-40 and a mopar filter.

This time I got some Max life 10w-40 and a super tech filter, does it have too few miles for max life blend?
I plan on going no more than 5k on the fill.

I went with the super tech filter, because I wanted something cheap thats also good, and I read that the mopar filter is just a fram, in disguise, only thing is the super tech looks smaller physically, and I dint research oversize options.

I haven't done the oil change yet, any thoughts

Nope, there's no reason you can't use Maxlife. It's a fine oil for any mileage.

As far as the Mopar filter, Mopar changes manufacturers regularly. Some models are Frams, others are Purloators, etc.... You never quite know what you're getting unless you cut one open and take a look. I personally wouldn't use them when you have much better options out there, and with those options you generally know what you're getting.

Its what the manual recommends, for use in my climate, actually I could go 20w-50 above 40 Degrees. The 5w30 oils Ive used (mainly Pennzoil) make the engine very noisy, and its loud enough with all the piston slap.

Morepower, since you are in Fla you could go with a 15w40. Make one from Maxlife by mixing equal parts 10w30 and 20w50. The result should be about a 15w40. OTOH, if you want a really robust oil, about a 20w40, mix equal parts 20w50 and SAE 30 (Maxlife comes in if you can find it).

But the 10w40 is fine.
