The Mars Perseverance Rover is scheduled for its landing on Mars on Feb 18. Here is a simple one page description on how it’s going to do it. The sequence will take 7 minutes, too short for NASA to monitor since it takes over 10 minutes for communications to reach back to earth. Enjoy.

Pretty cool landing and overall an incredible project. Exciting to see what samples and experiments on Mars yield.

So cool. I just spent a good while playing with the solar system there before watching the sim of the landing. I love this stuff.

You know, if I was sitting at the table when some young engineer proposed this, I would have said “ so what’s wrong with using air bags like Pathfinder in '97. "

That was an awesome clip. Thanks for the post.

The landing is planned for 3:55 PM E.T. this Thursday, Feb 18. This is not like the Daytona 500, it will happen on time , (or else there will be a crash similar to the one 18 minutes into the race. ) Fingers crossed.
