MAF cleaner

The Bosch MAF meters on Porsche, Mercedes, VW, etc. all fail frequently. The way I understand it is that dirt particles or oil residues get on the fragile resistance film in the sensor. Is there a cleaner for MAF's that actually works? It would have to not damage electronics or plastic surfaces, and leave no residue. I've been told the sensor is too fragile for spray type contact cleaners. Any suggestions?

CRC QD Contact Cleaner is safe for plastics and leaves no residue.

I use it for cleaning Ford MAFs. No idea how it'll work on a Bosch MAF.

I have used the same CRC product too in a Nissan Maxima's MAF. You may want to also have a can of compressed air to blow dry the MAF element after spraying it.
