M1 TDT and Shell T6; Compatible?

I need to add a quart to my MB 300D. I have Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck in it now. Can I add a quart of the new T6 Shell Rotella Synthetic?

Walmart is out of the TDT and does have the T6.

I bet the two would solidify if mixed, like concrete. I wouldn't do it.

Just kidding, I bet they even say on their respective containers that they can be mixed with other oils.

Additive clash can't really be quantified even in uoa, IMO, but it does sometimes hzve the potential for an effect. That said, most aren't particularly worried , and hdeos should pretty compatible...

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it at all. They're both superb oils and its certainly better than running low on oil.

I am thinking that rather than mixing brands I'd do better adding a qt of Delvac 15w40 from my stash. The sump holds 8 quarts so I'd have an equivalent of 6.25w40.

Probably not a big deal here in North Carolina.

Either way will be fine, the T6 or the Delvac 15w40. Next oil change just switch the whole thing over to the T6 and see how you like it.

Yes you absolutely can mix the two.
