M1-110 now made in Vietnam?

I took a look at filter while I was at Walmart and noticed that the 110 variant is now made in Vietnam. Others in South Korea

If I wanted one of these I'd go to the store for fear of getting old stock.

Definitely need to check before buying. Look for center tube with holes not louvers and silver ring around base plate. Of course made in Vietnam or Korea with plastic wrap on bottom.

You’re paying for the M1 label.

Maybe now that a significant brand is using them they will get pushed down to other names.

So the Pentius XL filters are good I’ve been seeing on Amazon?

I just got a trio of them in. They are very good quality on the hand (and in visual inspection) but I haven't cut one. WCW cut one and it had a massive amount of media for the can size.

The real question: is what are they claiming for media efficiency on the new M1s? Is it still 30 micron?

This possibly explains why the PG media looks so good past 10k in c&p’s. It was capable of 20k.

Should be interesting if WCW magnifies the media to compare. M1 could specify a different media. Boxes haven’t been updated 99%@30.

The one at store looks raised. I would take another one, if I was buying one. Too much raised glue. No matter, have a box full of unused oil filters. I have noticed on end cap glued filters it can get sloppy, and half covers tube holes etc.
The Purolator has that black glue which if they have another expensive oil filter party someone should ask them why not use the Boss beige glue.

Labor in Vietnam should be cheaper than in Korea. I've been to Vietnam and imho they are very proud of what how they do and are determined to do quality work, very hard working people.

I agree.
Vietnam is not a 3rd World country and they take pride in what they do, expect quality.
