It is. There's some cars that call for sn plus or sp and 0w30 which is extremely difficult to find. This checks those boxes.

Yes, part of the reason I picked it, wanted to run a zerp30 and it is the most easily obtainable 0w30, at least where I am.

I'd suspect many of the sales are also a crossover replacement for 5w30. It's a great oil, and the quietest running Mobil flavor I've personally ever used.

I like that you can get both 0W20 and 0W30 with this oil type. Potentially those two could be blended into a thicker 20 grade for newer DI turbos with fuel dilution issues. Or just use this on in place of 0W20.

Thanks for posting this.

Add 20% for a more accurate idea of the actual concentrations. Typical Blackstone low reporting.

Given a 0W-30, they may be using VII as a friction reducer and/or counting on it shearing down. Starting at 11.03 cSt, I imagine it would go down into the 9.5-10.0 cSt range. I think I would rather use Pennzoil Platinum that starts and stays in that range.

I've seen this on the shelf when I was in Oklahoma. I haven't seen it anywhere else.

0W30 is not a substitute or 0W20 . Two different animals.
Don't let that "0" fool you into thinking "thin" oil.

Its just pushing the gelation point further down the thermometer
and meeting a max allowed - and very gooey - viscosity spec just 5 degrees further down that same thermometer**.
All at extremely cold temperatures I have never - and will never - venture out of the house!

I'm not thinking that "0" means thin. I'm thinking that if a vehicle calls for 0W20 but a direct injection turbo thins it out of spec by the end of its run, then adding some 0W30 will not only push the viscosity to the top of the 20 grade scale (9.3 cSt) but will keep it from thinning out of grade as it's used. The fact that it's the same oil flavor (AFE) and both are "0" means you're not messing with the cold pour point.

Pretty much everything is lower than average besides magnesium, does that mean this is a below average oil?

It means the calibration of Blackstone's ICP is off. They are notorious for reporting low. If you look through here, you'll find several VOAs and used oil analysis from Blackstone with phosphorus below the minimum 600 ppm for API. That's why above I said to add ~20% to each figure to get a more accurate result.

I don't get why people still use Blackstone. Their results are inconsistent, the comments are a joke, and they're more expensive. Polaris labs is the same price as Blackstone but includes TBN, oxidation, and nitration. The Wix kits (ALS) are ea on Amazon and include TBN as well. Also, they don't report low.

Wix, thank you

not at all. The universal averages clearly come from sn or earlier rated oils. The sn plus oils look much different.

Good stuff I've used gallons and gallons of the stuff, I've read on here it has a nice slug of PAO.
I imagine it would considering the low zddp required, the high KV100, high flashpoint, and the 0W rating.

I've been wanting to try this one but I just can't stop pouring the thick stuff into my crankcase.
