Good to have it documented I guess. Especially with a comparison to Valvoline Restore and Protect
A comparison would be far more extensive - we only know what’s on a limited value “analysis” - and already know one has a better base stock - approval
One is a widely accepted “cleaner” - but not extended range
So we will speculate …
Mine would be they are both moderately priced - and if planning 10k - I’d choose one before the other and won’t need the other to clean my L84.

Slight differences in Moly and large dfference in Boron. Everything else is more or less similar. Not sure there is really anything to point at that says one is better than the other. Mobil 1 seems geared for an extended OCI and Valvoline Restore and Protect is for cleaning (specifically piston deposits.) Both should keep the engine clean. I guess time will tell if the Mobil 1 can keep deposit formation off piston rings.

I have used Mobil 1 oils for 48 years and have never had ring coking with several engines over 250K all at 10K OCIs. No reason to believe Mobil 1 Clean will.

The moly in the Mobil 1 is most likely trimer moly; so isn’t there a ‘doubling’ effect that makes it 220+ppm in function?

Shouldn't the lifter collapse take care of that way before the engine has time to get dirty?
