My transmission (4L80e) is being rebuilt for my chevy dually w/ 6.5 turbo diesel and I was wondering if any one has used it I have more testimonials by drag and race car drivers that swear by it

Are you plan on racing it?

Whats good for racing is not always suitable for street driven vehicles. Racers push their equipment to the limits and don't expect to reuse it without tearing it down. So often race products are designed for limited use and may not perform well over time in a street driven vehicle.

My advice would be to avoid race products unless you are racing.

I would not even consider Lucas for your application. There are much better products out there for sure. I would recommend you look at Redlines ATF's, along with Amsoil. I find Lucas to be a company with lots of advertising dollars and mediocre oils/additives at best.

Are you planning on racing this thing or just towing?

Yep, a DexronIII/Mercon substitute with a higher viscosity than most.

It has been developed to give the smooth, precise shifts needed by ET racers and yet extends a degree of protection not found in any other ATF

I would not use it for racing.

Most racers use a shift kit/valve body modification and or a special set of clutches and pressure plates with Type F fluid.

So many ATFs, so little time.

Whats this Lucas ATF cost? Maybe if it was free!

Its only a semisynthetic and has the viscosity of higher mileage ATF. And, the only spec mentioned is DexronIII/Mercon.

It only cost 4.99 a qt. @ Rural King I also get a discount threw a friend just tring to deside if I want to try it or fork the 7.49 a qt. for Mobil 1 syn. ATF I have a 3 yr. 100,000 mi warranty w/ the transmission anyway

I'm assuming that your rig has an auxillary trans cooler. If not, install one since you are towing. In my opinion, the M1 ATF would be worth the extra cost. So would a transmission cooler line filter to keep the new fluid really clean for a long time. Sounds like you might want to go another 200k miles, maybe?
