Lubeguard Engine and Auto RX?

Auto-Rx does substantial testing of compatability with potential host motor oils available in the market place. However the list of aftermarket additives is too vast to check compatability with a host oil, ARX, and another aftermarket additive. As you can see it becomes to cumbersome.

However, when running auto-rx in a host oil, you are already running 3 different ester groups that make up ARX, and nicely balanced I might add. Why throw another ester into the group, with polar properies competing for the same metal surface that the ARX is working on? I very general rule I always use is to add only one product to a working host oil at a time, period.

As far as running ARX with MMO, already in the system, not really a great idea. I would run the mix out 1500 miles and dump it and follow up with a simple dino rinse phase and see what you get. Besides, you are looking at a second cleaning anyways on that 160K motor. Between the MMO and the ARX, you have 20% additive and 80% oil. Thats a bit much, especially with half of the 20%, MMO, in the mix. If you follow my the plan you will get good results.
 
With Redline I would not add anything! I would imagine that the ester content in Redline combined with it's insane additive package(which I love) would make adding ARX a waste. Not because ARX is not great stuff but their is simply too much chemistry in Redline that is not going to allow ARX to do much. I would save the Lube Guard Engine Protectant for use on lessers oils. So lets say you pick up a 5 quart jug of PP or Valvoline or Walmart SYnthetic then add the lubeguard engine protect to that do not waste it on the Redline or Amsoil. I would never mix ARX with any other chemistry or additives since it works best with simple oils especialy dino. Save the ARX for cleaning with simple oils.

ANother thing too. If your engines where clean when you started useing Redline you really should not need ARX. Now if the engiens say lots of dino,GIII or PAO for long long long time then an ARX will benifit them. Ester based fluids really do not leave much behind especialy inthe ring area. I have seen pictures of a car that ran Redline for 300,000 miles and when it was torn down it was spotless inside. Other then carbon on the tops of the pistons the pistons where truly spotless.
 
I posted these results in February 2006. I did use Oilguard Analysis, which many people do not consider an A-1 oil analysis company. However, I had previous samples completed at Oilguard and never had wear numbers this low Aluminum-0 Lead-1 Iron-0 after 9200 miles. I used Lube Control with Auto RX during this run. In all fairness, I had just complete one standard auto rx 1500 mile 2000 mile rinse prior to adding Redline 5w20. This was my first and only run with redline in the car until now. I do agree in principle to Frank, Rick, Tempest, and John Browning. Even though oil consumed a bit more rapidly-although my Honda Accord seems like it uses about 1 quart oil every 7500 miles or so, the redline, lube control, and auto rx "competed" for low wear metals. Again-I do recognize this is just one report and logically cannot draw conclusions to generalize because of different variables and factors. Still-combinations may not always be bad-it just limits the ability to determine what actually is going on.

Four months service 100 mile roundtrip commute AM traffic jam..evening free highway spirited driving.
Completed Auto Rx txmt, and added RX maintenance dose at onset of OCI. Added Lube control 2 ounce starting at 1000 miles and every 1000 miles...stopped LC at 7000 due to one quart oil consumption...no consumption for last 2200 miles of interval
