Note that "flow better" really just means less delta-p. Only time there would be "better flow" is when the oil pump is in pressure relief.

Sorry to open this old thread, I opened a filter recently ordered from amsoil and noticed half the louvers where not open properly.
Tried sending a message via the contact forum on amsoil website but never heard back.

Those look open to me, but if you are not satisfied contact the dealer you bought them from, just return for exchange or refund.

Those look open to me, but if you are not satisfied contact the dealer you bought them from, just return for exchange or refund.

The louver are punched both ways because the filter can be installed either way. Each picture is from opposite ends. Not about money, if there's issue with manufacturing just letting amsoil know.

Boils down to a sloppy manufacturing process. It can't be that hard to form louvers.

You guys probably said somewhere along the line, but is it thought to be Mann+Hummel manufacturing these for Amsoil, or someone else? I saw an M+H reference, but IDK if that person knows.
