I posted several UOA's on my Honda MC.

There are gone. Too bad.

It seems like when an Admin decides to create a new catagory, he must manually go through every post to decide which one gets transferred.

So, a lot of good data is vaporized because the task is too cumbersome.

I counted catagories and we (you) were up to 46!! What's next? Skateboard lubricant? Then we can lose even more data while Admins try to do the impossible.

And while I'm bitching, here's another gripe. Patman told us to type in data. You lazy slackers who link aren't following directions. Your links go dead after a while and then your data is about as useful as knowing Madonna's cup size.

If you know some of the text from the UOAs which were lost, you might be able to find them in cache on a Google search. Google's search engines troll the web constantly, snapping "photos" of whatever is out there. Then Google stores this stuff in its own archives. If you ever find a dead link in a Google search, just click on the "cached" link there with it--more often than not, you'll find the page.

Satterfi.

They're there. Just like I said. (Sometimes I give myself cold chills).

Type in satterfi, honda, and UOA and you'll find the links. Click "cached" and you'll find your data. Copy it and re-paste it here.

And now we know, too, why Google is selling for just under 300 dollars a share!

Ooops... maybe that's someone else's UOA. But it qualifies as a missing UOA in these pages, which can be retreived at Google.

Do type in some keywords if you remember them and see what Google turns up.

Patman,

Thanks, you are correct. I did find the problem but I cannot cure it. satterfi registered with the user name satterfi and was member #114. For what ever reason he registered again using the same name satterfi and was assigned member #245. Both have the same email address. So when the member update backup is done some of the posts may go to member #114. Now that cannot happen under the new update of UBB Classic.

I have been researching this since he made his initial post. I just went through over 900 of his posts as member #245 in the Control Panel. None of them are missing. The program does not recognize nor let me look at his posts as member number 114.

satterfi,

I am the one who is responsible for creating new fourms. Don't blame the Admins on the board. I am to blame. And when a new forum is created the Admin/Mods spend over 30-40 hours trying to find posts that fit in that category. We really are trying to improve the board and keep items in the proper category.

I am really sorry that someone went we we in your Corn Flakes this morning. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Satterfi, when a new foum is created, we move the relevant posts to the new forum. All posts stay in the other forum, we do not delete posts. Next time, please email or IM one of us with a concern or problem, not publicly gripe about the board or your friendly neighborhood admins
